Contrary to popular belief, we do not do one-on-one personal training at our 29 Again Custom Fitness in Lutherville/Timonium.
We do “custom training.”
So, what’s custom training? Glad you asked.
Custom means your exercise program – specific exercises, reps, sets, rest periods, etc. – is customized for you.
You see, in fitness bootcamps, everyone does all the same exercises at the same time. There’s no planned progression.
Often, there’s not even a plan beyond today’s workout.
“But what’s the difference between personal training and custom training?”
Nothing. And everything.
When it comes to what we in the Fitness Biz call “Acute Workout Variables” (again, your specific exercises, reps, sets, rest), there is ZERO difference.
And because you’re working along with two or three like-minded individuals, we can afford to offer you a lower price than we’d charge for one-on-one training.
But here’s the shocker …
You’re not just getting the same results of one-on-one training for a lower price, you’re getting even better results!
Here’s proof …
Supervised exercise versus non-supervised exercise for reducing weight in obese adults.
Nicolaï SP et al
J Sports Med Phys Fitness. 2009 Mar;49(1):85-90.
In this study, one group – let’s call them “A” – did custom training with a fitness coach twice a week (what we call our Double Gold Plan at 29 Again) for 4 months.
The other group – we’ll cleverly call, “Group B” – received basic advice to increase physical activity (you know, like your doctor tells you) and access to a fully equipped gym (as in the gym membership you have but don’t use).
Result: The custom training group lost 362% more fat over a 4-month period. (Total fat loss of 13.4lbs in the fitness coaching group versus a mere 3.7lbs in the gym member group).
Custom training – using an individualized exercise program performed in a group setting – optimizes your results at a reduced cost. And we’re the first in the Lutherville-Timonium area to specialize in Custom Training.
You know that’s a winning combination, so get started right away by calling 410-429-7029!

I agree with this. I wrote about this a week ago on my fitness blog. I think so many people have jumped on the bandwagon of profitability that it has hurt the clients in the long run. Although people are similar, they aren’t totally similar. This might be bad for business, but better for people in general.
Thanks. That’s why we don’t do fitness bootcamps, although they’re extremely profitable.
